# How Leave and Blockouts Appear on the Roster

## The roster automatically surfaces leave and availability so you never accidentally schedule someone who is away.

#### **What You'll See**

- Approved **leave** is shown on the roster grid so you can see who is unavailable.
- **Blockout dates** (employee-submitted unavailability) also appear on the grid.
- If you try to assign a shift that **conflicts with a blockout**, a warning dialogue appears with the option to **Proceed Anyway** or **Cancel**.

**Tip:** Check leave and blockouts before scheduling to avoid conflicts.
