How to Assign a Shift in Shift View

In Shift View, each row represents a shift template rather than an employee. This makes it easy to see coverage at a glance.

Steps

  1. Switch to Shift View using the View dropdown.

  2. Click a cell in the grid (intersection of a shift template row and a day column).

  3. A drawer opens with the Assign tab active.

  4. Under each Role section, use the employee picker to add employees.

Drawer Layout Toggle

  • Tab Layout — A compact drawer showing one section at a time using tabs. Great when you want the roster grid visible alongside the drawer.
  • Side by Side Layout — A wider view that shows assigned employees and shift details next to each other. Ideal for shifts with multiple roles or when you need to see everything at once.

How to Toggle

  1. Open a shift drawer by clicking any cell in the Shift View grid.
  2. In the drawer header (top-right), click the layout toggle icon.
  3. The drawer switches between Tab and Side by Side layout.
