How to Import Timesheets from the Roster
Save time by auto-filling attendance entries based on your published roster.
Note: This feature is available to employees viewing their own timesheet. Managers and admins do not see this option — it is designed for employees to quickly populate their own attendance.
Before You Start
- Your company must have the Import from Roster feature enabled.
- You must be logged in as an employee (not a manager or admin account).
- Your roster must be published for the dates you want to import.
How to Import
- Navigate to your Attendance & Timesheets page.
- Select the date range you want to populate (up to 31 days).
- Click the Import from Roster button in the toolbar.

- Timecloud will auto-fill attendance entries based on your rostered shifts for the selected dates.

- Review the imported entries and make any adjustments as needed.
When to Use It
- Ideal for pre-filling your expected hours when you follow a published roster.
- Great if you have a predictable schedule — saves manual entry time.
- Useful at the start of a pay period to set up your timesheet quickly.
Good to Know
- No duplicates — running the import again will not create duplicate entries for shifts already imported.
- Editable — imported entries can still be edited or deleted. Treat them as a starting point, not a final record.
- Skips leave days — if you have approved leave on a day, that day will not be populated.
- Employee view only — this button only appears in your own timesheet when logged in as an employee. If you don't see it, check that you're logged into your employee account and that the feature is enabled for your company.
