How to Manage Geofences

Geofences are virtual boundaries you draw on the map. They help you track whether employees are clocking in from approved locations.  

Entering Edit Mode
  1. Click the pencil icon in the top-right corner of the map.

  2. The drawing toolbar appears with four shape tools.

Creating a Geofence

  1. Enter edit mode (pencil icon).

  2. Choose a shape tool:

    • Rectangle — Click and drag to draw a rectangular boundary.

    • Circle — Click and drag to draw a circular boundary.

    • Polygon — Click to place points, then close the shape to create a custom boundary.

  3. After drawing, the Geofence Details dialog opens:

    • Enter a Name for the geofence (required).

    • Set a Valid From date (when the geofence becomes active).

    • Set a Valid To date (when the geofence expires — optional).

  4. Click Confirm to queue the geofence for saving.

  5. Click Save (top-right) to save all changes.

Editing a Geofence

  1. Enter edit mode (pencil icon).

  2. Click on an existing geofence to select it.

  3. Drag the boundary handles to resize or reposition.

  4. Click the geofence to open the Geofence Details dialogue and update the name or dates.

  5. Click Confirm, then Save.

Deleting a Geofence

  1. Enter edit mode (pencil icon).

  2. Click on the geofence you want to remove.

  3. In the Geofence Details dialogue, click the trash icon.

  4. Click Save to confirm the deletion.

Cancelling Changes

  • Click Cancel (below the Save button) to discard all unsaved geofence changes and exit edit mode.

Using the Pan Tool

  • While in edit mode, click the hand icon to switch to pan mode. This lets you navigate the map without accidentally drawing a new shape.
