# How to Request Partial Day Leave

## Need to take only part of a day off? Timecloud supports partial day leave requests.

### **Steps to Request Partial Day Leave**

1. Navigate to the **Leave** page
2. Click **Add Leave**

1. Select your **Leave Type**
2. Set both the **Start Date** and **End Date** to the **same day**
3. A **Partial Day** toggle will appear below the date range
4. Enable the **Partial Day** toggle
5. Enter the number of **Hours** you want to take off (the maximum available hours based on your shift are shown)
6. Add a **Comment** or **Attachment** if required
7. Click **Save** and confirm

### **Key Points**

- The **Partial Day** option only appears when start and end dates are the same
- Hours are validated against your scheduled shift for that day
- Partial leave is recorded in hours rather than days
