How to Set Up Roster Compliance Rules

Compliance rules act as guardrails — they warn you when a schedule breaks labour laws or company policy before you publish, helping you avoid costly compliance issues.

Steps

  1. In Shift View, click the Compliance Rules button in the toolbar.

  2. Configure rules such as:

    • Minimum rest between shifts — e.g. 10 hours cooldown after a shift.

    • Maximum hours in a rolling period — e.g. no more than 38 hours per 7 days.

    • Maximum consecutive days — e.g. no more than 6 days in a row.

    • Required shift counts — minimum or maximum shifts per period.

  3. Click Save Rules.

Once rules are active, compliance warning icons ( ! ) appear on employee rows and shift tiles when a rule is broken.
