How to Use Kiosk Mode

Kiosk mode is designed for workplaces where employees share a single device (e.g. a tablet at a reception desk or warehouse entrance).
Each employee uses their 4-digit PIN to identify themselves and clock in or out.
After each clock-in, the screen automatically returns to the PIN entry so the next person can use it.

Each employee enters their 4-digit PIN on the keypad.
After entering the PIN, the employee can:
- Tap Clock In to start their shift
- Tap Clock Out to end their shift
- Tap Start Break or End Break if applicable

The manager who sets up kiosk mode can select Remember me for 30 days when logging in.
The manager's session now stays active while employees clock in and out — employee PIN logins do not interrupt or log out the manager.
This means the kiosk device stays set up and ready without needing the manager to re-authenticate every day.
If the manager's 30-day session expires, they will be prompted to log in again.

If the app is sent to the background (e.g. switching apps, pressing the home button) while an employee is clocked in on the kiosk, the current employee session ends automatically.
The kiosk returns to the PIN entry screen when the app is reopened.
The manager's session is not affected — no re-login is needed.

After a clock-in or clock-out action, the kiosk screen automatically returns to the PIN entry.
The timeout duration can be configured (typically between 5 and 30 seconds).
This ensures the device is ready for the next employee.

To exit kiosk mode, the admin or manager enters their admin PIN or password.
This returns the app to normal mode.

Note: Only users with the correct credentials can exit kiosk mode, preventing employees from accidentally leaving the kiosk screen.

Employee sessions are isolated — each employee's kiosk clock-in uses a separate session from the manager's. One employee's session ending (e.g. timeout, invalid PIN) never affects the manager or other employees.
Offline PIN — if the device is offline, employees can still enter their PIN to clock in. The clock data syncs when connectivity returns.
Security — while the manager's session stays active in the background, kiosk employees can only access the PIN entry and punch board screens. They cannot navigate to the manager's profile, timesheets, or other areas.

Kiosk mode turns a shared device into a team clock-in station. Multiple employees can clock in and out using the same device with their own PIN.
