Biometric Scanner Setup

The first configuration guide for a biometric unit, including how to create and edit an employee, connect to the wifi and input biometrics

To connect to the wifi (0:18)

  1. Press M/OK to open the main menu
  2. Navigate to COMM with the arrow keys
  3. Select Wireless Network and select the desired wifi
  4. Enter in the wifi password using the numbers to cycle through characters and the arrow keys to set the type of character (lower case, upper case, numbers and symbols) 
  5. confirm with M/OK and allow connection, it will read 'Connected' next to the wifi 

To type on a biometric unit (0:30)

  1. use the arrows to cycle through available sets of characters these include 
    1. lower case, upper case, numbers, symbols
  2. press the corresponding number multiple times to cycle through the letters available and release once the correct letter or symbol is highlighted
  3. to delete an incorrect letter, use the left arrow

To manually create an employee in the biometric unit (1:21)

  1. navigate to User MGT
  2. select new user
  3. type in the User ID from the timecloud employee ID (as seen at the beginning of the video)
  4. enter the name, role and select verification mode for the new user.
    1. Super Admin accounts protect the main menu and settings from being accessed by employees, the unit will be locked once the first Super Admin is created
    2. Verification Mode will determine what is accepted as a user sign in method, there are several combinations to choose from
  5. Simply ESC out of the menu once completed

To add biometric fingerprint or palm (2:18)

  1. Either while creating a new employee or selecting the desired user from the view all users list (press edit)
    1. Select Palm from the list to begin the Palm configuration and hold your hand in front of the scanner until complete
    2. Select Fingerprint, use the direction keys to pick which finger you want to configure and scan it three times once selected. You can configure multiple fingers
  2. Ensure the correct verification mode is selected to allow biometric verification for users 

To View attendance data on timecloud (3:05)

  1. clock in on your new user by simply scanning your palm or fingerprint and selecting 'clock in' ensure the big tick confirming clock in is visible
  2. navigate to the attendance page and select the relevant employee, allow a few minutes for the data to appear
    1. If no data appears after several minutes, ensure the User ID matches the corresponding Timecloud Employee ID and that Scanner is connected to the internet

To access main menu once super admin is created (3:24)

  1. from the clock in page simply push M/OK
  2. Use an approved verification mode 
    1. you may need to enter the admin's User ID before verifying 

To edit or delete existing users (3:35)

  1. access the settings page
  2. navigate to User MGT
  3. select all users, and select the desired User from the list (you can search with their name or user ID)
    1. Select edit to apply biometrics or edit users profile
    2. select delete to either delete the user or wipe their biometric data
